Your last five years do not stay behind.
What stops an operator changing till software is rarely the software. It is the suspicion that the history stops at the switchover — that last year’s comparison, the member numbers and the balances quietly become someone else’s problem.
The old sales journal comes across
We have imported more than 17 000 transactions out of a legacy till, with their dates, lines and tenders. That is the difference between “we started fresh in March” and being able to ask what a Saturday looked like last year.
Members keep their number
Over 6 000 members were carried over with their membership numbers intact, so the card in someone’s wallet still works and nobody has to explain to a five-year member why they are now number 12.
Stock starts from a count, not a guess
Branch stock comes in from your current system’s own exports, then a count. Both, deliberately: on one migration the old system’s figures turned out to be deliveries booked as stock, which is the sort of thing you want to find during the import and not during a stocktake in March.
Every importer runs as a dry run first
It prints what it would do — matched, unmatched, ambiguous — and changes nothing until you have read it. Unmatched rows are shown to you, never quietly dropped.
What we need from you
Exports as they come out of your current system; CSV or spreadsheets are fine, and we take them in whatever shape the old software produced. One stocktake. And one person who can answer questions about odd rows, because there are always odd rows.
What you will get back
A list of what the old data got wrong. Every import so far has produced one — duplicate members, prices that never existed, stock that was a delivery note. That list is worth more than the import.
What we will not promise: a perfect import. Nobody can, and an old system’s data has been wrong for years before it reaches us. What we do promise is that you see, line by line, what came across and what did not — before it goes live, not after.
